Girl Scout cookies are back in season, and this year, they will be easier than ever to find.

As usual, those who personally know a Girl Scout will be able to reach out and order cookies from her, but for those who do not know any Girl Scouts, the organization has developed a new way to find cookies.

From Jan. 19 - March 3, cookie enthusiasts can use two new features on the Girl Scouts website to either locate a cookie booth nearby or order Girl Scout cookies straight to their door.

Girl Scouts has even made it possible to find out where Girl Scouts are set up for the day by texting "cookies" to 59618.

According to a press release from Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, the cookie program impacts the girls and the local economy in several ways.

The girls have an opportunity to learn about financial literacy, gain entrepreneurial skills, set goals, learn about business ethics, and more.

Additionally, the money raised from cookie sales stays in the local area economy and is often used to fund volunteer projects that benefit the community at large, troop travel, and summer camp.

Every year, nearly 700,000 girls participate in the Girl Scout cookie program nationally.

The girls will be eligible to earn badges for their work which include Cookie Business badges, Financial Literacy badges, Cookie Entrepreneur Family pins and Entrepreneur badges.
