Looking for good RI Chinese food? Here are 7 reader-favorite places to order from

If you're looking for the best Chinese food in Rhode Island, we've got some idea of where you can go, both for take-out and dine-in options.

The Providence Journal recently put it to readers in an unscientific poll. First, we asked readers to nominate places to include in the poll on our Instagram page @ProJoEats, which we then compiled into a true poll asking people to vote for their favorite.

Hundreds of votes later, we've narrowed it down to the top seven reader picks, featuring all different types of dishes from authentic to fusion to Americanized options. Happy ordering!

Winner: Asia Grille

With two locations – one in Lincoln and one in Cranston – Asia Grille is a staple in the Rhode Island Chinese food scene, winning 15% of the vote in a very crowded field. They offer both dine-in and take-out. Popular items on their menu include the Lo Mein, General's Chicken and Shrimp Lobster Sauce.

Runner Up: House of Wu

One of the benefits from ordering House of Wu in West Warwick: They have a very, very large menu. If you're trying to decide what to get, people recommend the chicken chow mein, beef Teriyaki and pork fried rice. The no-frills restaurant does offer dine-in in addition to takeout.

Third place: Lemongrass Asian Bistro

This family-owned Asian bistro in Warwick has Chinese, Japanese(including sushi), Thai and Vietnamese food on its menu. The restaurant, which does both dine-in (with robot waiters) and take-out, opened in 2004.

Fourth place: Luke's Inn

Luke's Inn is a Rhode Island favorite, often making best-of lists. The family-run restaurant has been open in Warren since 1985 serving Chinese, American and Polynesian. You can get everything from a cheeseburger to little necks to wings to lo mein here. Their crab cakes are made from scratch and are known for being great.

Fifth place: Islander Restaurant

With a huge menu to pick from, Islander Restaurant in Warwick is a favorite for dine-in and take-out. The bar is great, but if you're not looking to dine in, you can get a Scorpion Bowl to go.

Sixth Place: Cheng Du Taste

Serving Chinese food from the Sichuan province and the neighboring Chongqing municipality, this Providence restaurant (formerly located in Pawtucket) serves authentic food with the spiciness you would expect from this style. Popular menu items include the Dan Dan Noodle Chengdu style and the Chongqing Diced Chicken with hot chili peppercorns. The restaurant, which offers both dine-in and take-out, describes its food as a modern interpretation of classic dishes.

Seventh Place: China Dynasty Restaurant

A casual Chinese restaurant, China Dynasty Restaurant in Cranston offers authentic tastes, with both dine-in and take-out. Their Dynasty Wings, in particular, come highly recommended.
