Aunt Katie’s

Where: 3005 E. Cervantes St.

Aunt Katie’s takes brunch seriously and doles out portions generously. Open for breakfast and lunch, with both menus available all day, Aunt Katie’s has a pretty straightforward menu that focuses on seafood, steak and Southern cooking.

What to try: Breakfast Aunt Katie’s, cinnamon roll French toast and the breakfast burrito.

Polonza Bistro

Where: 286 N. Palafox St.

When it comes to brunch, Polonza Bistro has it all: a great atmosphere, homestyle comfort foods, quality coffee and delicious cocktails. It’s a medium-sized restaurant with lots of seating, though you should still expect a wait on Sundays.

What to try: Steak and eggs and the toad in the hole.

Coffee Cup

Where: 520 E. Cervantes St.

The Coffee Cup is a local landmark that has served breakfast to Pensacola since 1945. The restaurant has changed hands over the years, but the quality is still there. Coffee Cup doesn’t get fancy with its menu, offering breakfast classics, omelets, eggs benedict and some basic lunch options. However, everything it does, it does very well.

What to try: French toast and omelets.

George Bistro + Bar

Where: 6205 N. Ninth Ave.

If you’re looking to elevate your brunch to the next level, George Bistro + Bar is one of the best places to do it. The menu is inspired by Southern flavors with a bit of a modern appeal. Brunch has plenty of omelets, French toast, quiche and more. Skip the bottomless mimosas and try one of the 14 signature cocktails available for brunch.

What to try: Very berry French toast and the crab cakes eggs benedict.

Taylor’s Breakfast and Lunch

Where: 7175 N. Davis Highway

Taylor’s Breakfast and Lunch is a newcomer to the food scene after it opened in 2019. It is a breakfast and lunch restaurant locally owned with a second location open in Panama City. When it comes to breakfast, this place has one of the more expansive menus. It has sections for healthy meals, sweet indulgences, benedicts, omelets, benedicts, skillets and hashes, scrambles and Southern sides.

What to try: Apple cinnamon patriot, breakfast burrito and the classic breakfast.

Ruby Slipper Café

Where: 509 S. Palafox St.

The Ruby Slipper Café in Pensacola is part of the Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group that has 18 locations throughout the South. It was originally established in New Orleans in 2008, just after Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on the city. No storm could stop the restaurant’s formula and it’s been a popular brunch spot in Pensacola ever since it brought its New Orleans hospitality and flavors to the Panhandle. The menu has plenty of brunch favorites, like French toast, benedicts, omelets and special options like breakfast tacos, The Trifecta, grilled fish St. Peter and more.

What to try: Brioche French toast, bananas foster pain perdu and eggs cochon.

South Market

Where: 905 E. Gregory St.

You know a restaurant is doing brunch right when its brunch cocktail menu is just as big as the food menu. South Market is a downtown restaurant that is known for its from-scratch foods, handcrafted cocktails and its expansive option of gluten-free meals. Brunch entrees include Belgian waffles, chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits, plus benedicts and plenty of lunch options. For drinks, there are 10 house cocktails and 8 happy hour specials.

What to get: Crab cake benedict.

Five Sisters Blues Café

Where: 421 W. Belmont St.

Five Sisters Blues Café does brunch differently with its Sunday Jazz Brunch. Each Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a live jazz band is brought in to accompany the restaurant’s Creole-style Southern fare. The brunch menu includes eggs, benedicts, biscuits, waffles and French toast with plenty options for regular entrees, sandwiches, salads and delicious side options.

What to try: Crab cake benedict and chicken and waffles.

Jaco’s Bayfront Bar & Grille

Where: 997 S. Palafox St. and 12700 Gulf Beach Highway

Jaco’s is one of the best spots to dine with a view in Pensacola as it sits right at the end of Palafox Pier Marina and overlooks the bay. The brunch menu offers a pretty interesting mix of foods like the BLT&E, which is a BLT with two eggs and a fried green tomato and a flatbread scramble, making it a more interesting option. There are also loads of breakfast sides to enjoy like pomme frittes, Creole grits and more.

What to try: Fried green tomato stack, blueberry French toast.

Leisure Club

Where: 1151 Office Woods Dr., Ste A

The Leisure Club is all brunch, all the time. It’s a cafe known for its brunch trio and coffee, the first of which is a fancy name for their $12 brunch option that allows patrons to choose two entrees from more than 13 options, including Conecuh sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagel with smoked salmon and a choice of side. Vegan versions are available for most of the options.

What to try: Vegan biscuits and gravy and vegan waffles.

Another Broken Egg

Where: 721 E. Gregory St.

Another Broken Egg is a franchise that specializes in breakfast and brunch. The Pensacola location was sold in 2021 to Ron Schier, a retired Army Signal Corps officer. Schier also owns the Auburn, Alabama, location of Another Broken Egg Café with his wife, Teresa.

The brunch menu is huge. Similar to Taylor’s, you’ll find the menu separated into sections like brunch specialties, low-calorie options, indulgences, omelets, scramblers, traditional classics and more.

What to try: Cinnamon roll French toast and Mardi Gras omelet.

McGuire’s

Where: 600 E Gregory St.

A McGuire’s brunch is hot and heavy with limited hours, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., complementary Irish coffee and homemade French Quarter Beignets and a limited but serious menu. While you can get anything off the full menu, the brunch menu consists of just seven options, most of which are omelets and benedicts. A Belgian waffle and eggs Killarney is also available. Heads up, these plates are McGuire’s-sized, so don’t fill up on too many beignets.

What to try: The beignets and the steak omelet.
