The freaks are out for Halloween.

And you can find some of them at one of these six pop-up bars scattered across Kansas City until Oct 31.

Each bar has a different theme, capturing iconic looks from movies, television shows, video games and more in their food, drinks and decorations.

Down in the West Bottoms, you can see Dr. Frank-N-Furter from the 1975 classic film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” serving drinks to patrons while they learn how to do the Time Warp again.

Wander into J. Rieger & Co.’s speakeasy at 2700 Guinotte Ave. and you might think some of the patrons have been infected with cordyceps, the fungus that took over the minds of people in the best-selling video game “The Last of Us,” and the hit TV show of the same name.

If that isn’t enough, the Sanderson Sisters from the Disney movie “Hocus Pocus” have taken over a coffee shop in Pendelton Heights, casting spells on all those who intrude and disturb them.

Amuck, Amuck, Amuck!

  • Where: PH Coffee, 2200 Lexington Ave.

  • When: Oct. 19-21 and Oct. 26-28

The Sanderson Sisters from Salem are running Amuck, Amuck, Amuck! at PH Coffee in Pendelton Heights for two weekends. Live music, parodies, spooky cocktails named after characters from “Hocus Pocus,” and snacks will fill the air as the production by Casey Jane, Katelyn Baron and Briana Marxen-McCollom casts a spell on you.

You can book your reservations online. Each show runs from 7-10 p.m.

Cocktails and Cordyceps

  • Where: J. Rieger & Co., 2700 Guinotte Ave.

  • When: now until Oct. 31

You can join The Last of Us when you head to The Hey! Hey! Club in the basement of J. Rieger & Co.

It’s called Cocktails and Cordyceps and the theme is based on the smash-hit video games series for Playstation consoles and the show on Max (formerly called HBO). The show featured Kansas City in the fourth episode of its first season.

The clickers have infected the club and brought a few drinks for the infected to try. The menu includes The Hero’s Journey, Will O’ The Wisp and The Forager, all made with spirits from J. Rieger & Co.

The Ghosts of Baseball Past

  • Where: Legends Field, 1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas

Baseball and Halloween come together at Legends Field for this pop-up. The Ghosts of Baseball Past, put together by Apparition Productions, turns the home of the Kansas City Monarchs into a cursed museum.

The experience takes visitors through the history of baseball, offering spooky surprises like the 13th-inning ghosts and the hallway of horrors. You can also hang out in the “spookeasy” with themed cocktails and snacks in the Legends Club at the stadium.

It’s open from 6-11 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays and from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday and Sunday dates are open to all ages, while Friday and Saturday dates are only for people ages 21 and up.

Entry is $10 per person, and tickets are bought online.

Ghoulish Spookeasy at KC Live!

The KC Live! Block in downtown Kansas City turns the Leinenkugel’s space into a Ghoulish Spookeasy this Halloween. The space partners with Tom’s Town Distillery to bring its visitors drinks using their spirits.

The pop-up bar is open from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursdays and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. No reservations are required, but you have to be ages 21 and up to enter.

The Rocky Horror pop-up bar

  • Where: 9th & State, 1717 West 9th St.

  • When: Now until Oct. 31

This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Show, the stage musical based on the 1975 film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” and Vignettes is celebrating by bringing back The Time Warp Club.

Their Rocky Horror-themed pop-up bar is back in Kansas City, bringing all the cheers and iconic costumes to the West Bottoms. The menu is filled with drinks inspired by the rock musical, like The Wedding and Transvesper.

It’s open Thursdays through Sundays, and you can book reservations online. It’s $5 per person.

The Spook Easy at Vignettes

  • Where: Vignettes, 2376 Armour Road, North Kansas City

Vignettes, the pop-up bar space at 2376 Armour Road in North Kansas City was a Spongebar, and now it’s a spooky speakeasy.

The team behind Apparition Productions brings a Halloween-themed pop-up bar called The Spook Easy that takes visitors to the land of the living dead. It brings themed drinks like the Redrum — made with rum — and The VVITCH — concocted with Laird’s Applejack whiskey

All ages are welcome on weekdays, and it’s 21-and-up only on Friday and Saturdays. Reservations are made online, and it’s $5 per person.

Westport Ale House

  • Where: Westport Ale House, 4128 Broadway Blvd

Break out your costumes for Westport Ale House’s Halloween pop-up bar. The bar in Westport turns its interior into a Halloween hangout for all to enjoy. Themed drinks include the Alien Brain Slime cocktail, Witches Brew and Poisoned Apple.

The bar also hosts a Halloween costume contest starting at 10 p.m. on Oct. 28. Winners can win complimentary bottle service, gift cards and more.
