Looking for a home: A chinchilla, huskies and cats

Cashew
Cashew

Greenhill Humane Society

Cashew, a 1-year-old Grey Long Tailed guy, has a big personality and is extremely friendly. Chinchillas aren't often at Greenhill, so Cashew quickly became a staff favorite. He often can be found climbing up their shoulders and hanging out on their heads. He’s adventurous, curious and very social. He prefers a quiet, calm environment and quickly bonds with his people.

Cashew has dark grey fur with big black eyes. He has dense, thick fur and bushy tail, weighs 1.50 lbs., and is looking for an inside-only home. Chinchillas have a long lifespan and are most active in the mornings and afternoons. They eat a herbivore diet and use a dust bath to clean their fur. If you are interested in learning more about chinchillas as pets, the team at Greenhill can provide you with resources.

Greenhill Humane Society is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at 88530 Green Hill Road in Eugene. For more information, call 541-689-1503 or visit green-hill.org

Oregon Coast Humane Society

Sitka
Sitka

The Oregon Coast Humane Society has two huskies left from the last batch a local breeder surrendered to them. The huskies are losing hope that families are coming for them, according to society.

Sitka is one of two male huskies the Humane Society still in their care. He's a sweet, shy boy and would do well with a confident dog in the home to teach him the joys of living with a family. Sitka prides himself on being a professional treat taste tester and is happy to show you his skills when you meet him.

If you'd like to add Sitka or his brother Juno to your family, stop by the shelter, 2840 Rhododendron Drive in Florence, or apply online at oregoncoasthumanesociety.org Shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
