Looking for live music? Stroll through Woods Hole all day Saturday

A dozen groups of singers and instrumentalists will play music throughout Woods Hole for six hours Saturday, offering Native American, Celtic, old-time, folk, roots, and early music tunes for The Woods Hole Traditional Music Stroll.

The Trad Stroll, presented by ArtsFalmouth, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine, with free hour-long shows from noon to 6 p.m. at seven venues. For performances in Woods Hole Community Hall, COVID-19 precautions require proof of vaccination, masks, social distancing and a 45-person-at-a-time attendance limit.

The Artisans Market part of the event will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Old Fire Station, 72 Water St. Participating local vendors include Sandra Faxon of Local Colors Gallery, with giclée prints and watercolors; Mike Adams with handcrafted wooden bowls; Diane Precourt of Buddha Buns, who sews meditation cushions; Joe Freedman with photos of Falmouth; Nancy Sawyer of Goin’ Fishing, who has fish-related art; Judy La Cava of Octopus’s Garden, with sea glass and silver jewelry; Vivian Dreishbach, who offers knitted items; and Abby Volkman, who makes beaded jewelry.

The music schedule: Noon, award-winning singer-songwriter Kim Moberg at Martha’s Vineyard Bank, 2 Water St., and L’Esperance Mandolin Ensemble, led by Josh Bell, at Woods Hole Community Hall, 68 Water St.

At 1 p.m.: Ganivelle performs at the Community Hall, playing French dance music.

At 2 p.m.: The Falmouth Fiddlers play bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, country, and folk at Woods Hole Historical Museum’s Small Boat Museum outdoor patio, 579 Woods Hole Road; Stanley & Grimm (fiddler Nikki Engstrom and singer/guitarist Sean Brennan) perform new, old and original tunes at Quicks Hole Tavern, 29 Railroad Ave.; andthe Solstice Singers, directed by Lore Loftfield DeBower, perform at the community hall, offering Renaissance music.

At 2:30 p.m.: The Rum-Soaked Crooks play at Pie in the Sky Bakery and Café’s outdoor patio at 10 Water St., with Tom Goux, Jacek Sulanowski and Dan Lanier, performing a mix of sailor’s chanteys, ballads and ditties.

At 3 p.m.: Cat's Melodeon will entertain from the Coffee Obsession front porch, 38 Water St. with Bill Black leading Irish traditional music; Heather Swanson and Don Gauland play contemporary Celtic tunes at community hall.

At 4 p.m.: The Sonnay Fiddlers, students ages 5 and up led by teacher Engstrom, will perform Celtic tunes at community hall. Morgan Rattler performs at the upper-level waterfront deck at Woods Hole Market & Provisions, 87 Water St., with Jacek Sulanowski, Barbara Blair and Ron Geering playing traditional American, Irish, Scottish, English, and French seafaring music.

At 5 p.m.: Woods Hole Folk Orchestra will perform at community hall, with contra, square dance, English country, and international folk music. (COVID-19 precautions prevent dancing.)

Parking is available at WHOI lots on School Street and Dyer’s Dock on Water Street, and at the MBL lot behind Cornelia Clapp (formerly Lillie) Auditorium.
