Looking for lunch? Local organizations offering free meals and snacks for summer
While local students adjust to their summer schedules, organizations in Beaver County are ensuring that hungry children have access to food.
The Beaver County YMCA has once again partnered with a variety of local organizations to set up summer meal sites for students in need. The lunches are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development in partnership with the Beaver County Commissioners.
Some locations involved in the summer lunch program will require registration and eligibility forms, but the YMCA did not indicate which organizations require these forms on their website.
The following locations will have a noon lunch for visitors ages 18 and younger on weekdays until Aug. 12, unless otherwise noted:
Aliquippa Impact - 952 Franklin Ave., 3rd Floor, Aliquippa, PA 15001 (until Aug. 4)
BF Jones Library - 663 Franklin Ave., Aliquippa, PA 15001
Allison Park Church - 239 Merchant St., Ambridge, PA 15003 (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until July 28)
Baden United Methodist Church - 420 Dippold Ave., Baden, PA 15005
Dreamers - 1023 Main St., Aliquippa, PA 15001
Ewing Park Pool - Ewing Park, Ellwood City, PA 16117 (until Aug. 5)

In addition to the lunch locations listed above, some local organizations are also offering an “a.m. snack” for families in need. The following locations will have snacks available for visitors age 18 and younger until Aug. 12:

Beaver Falls Library - 1217 Seventh Ave., Beaver Falls, PA 15010
Midland Library - 61 Ninth St., Midland, PA 15059
Children in need of meal services in the evening can go to The Center, located at 754 Ohio Ave. in Midland, for their dinner service. Students can receive dinner from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays until Aug. 5.
