Looking for a North Jersey sports bar to watch the game? Try one of these

Love to catch a game on a big screen with fellow sports lovers while enjoying a cold brew and bar grub?

You're in luck. North Jersey has a slew of sports bars that have banks of high-def televisions as well as beefy burgers (not to mention, wonderful wings) and great suds.

So don't hesitate. Go cheer on your team and enjoy a snack -- or meal -- at one of the following fun, friendly and spirited sports bars. You can commiserate a loss or celebrate a win with your fellow sports bar regulars.

Black Bear & Grill, Hoboken

What's better than watching a game accompanied by a juicy burger or savory wings? Black Bear Grill has more than 50 HD TVs plus a can't-miss-a-thing 25-foot high-def screen above the bar. Owner Dave Facey wanted to curate a cozy atmosphere, and so collected pieces from old bars in the Adirondacks and furnished the bar with reclaimed wood, vintage signs and funky antiques. The menu includes sliders, salads, burgers and other entrees, and, on the weekends, there is a Bloody Mary bar. The bar is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday noon to midnight, Friday and Saturday noon to 3 a.m. and Sunday noon to 2 a.m. Closed Tuesdays.

Until then, grab a seat in the dining round surrounded by 35 flat-screen TVs and enjoy such eats as burgers, pasta, pizza, sandwiches and wraps, and perhaps dessert (how does warm brownie a la mode strike you?). Drop in after work and take advantage of Redd's Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., when appetizers are half, house martinis $5 and pizzas $5. Redd's is open every day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.; it opens at 9 a.m. on football Sundays.

"They have a pool table, craft beer and a secret apple cider shot that is pretty special." There are 12 LED TVs, and if your team is losing and you need a break, there are seven dart boards. You can even become a VIP member and receive information about exclusive events, exclusive menus and special discounts. For more info, visit their website.
