Looking for a pet-friendly apartment in Central Florida? Here’s where to look

Pet Alliance is helping to take some of the guesswork out of trying to find an apartment rental that accepts pets.

The shelter created an interactive map of Central Florida mapping out pet-friendly complexes. Some of the properties included welcome all dogs regardless of size or breed, while some have no breed restrictions, but have weight restrictions.

Pet Alliance officials said two-thirds of American households have at least one pet, but a leading reason for dog surrenders is due to difficulty finding pet-friendly housing with no breed or size restrictions.

Officials said last year over 250 pets were surrendered to Pet Alliance due to the lack of pet-friendly housing.

“We believe that the availability of more truly pet-friendly apartments will go a long way in keeping pets with their family,” officials said.
