Home values in Centre County

More and more million-dollar listings are hitting Centre County’s real estate market, and home values are generally on the rise in the area.

Some central Pennsylvania ZIP codes have seen their median home values increase by more than 20% over the last year, according to Zillow data. On average, Centre County-area ZIP codes saw their median home values rise by roughly 6.6% between July 2022 and 2023, settling for an average value of about $220,000.

The 17044 ZIP code, located near Lewistown, saw the largest jump over the past year with a 20.71% increase in median home value, Zillow reports. Ten other ZIP codes observed median home value gains of at least 10% during that timeframe.

The 16860 ZIP code, located northeast of Philipsburg, saw its median home value decrease by about 4.6% over the last year, marking the largest drop of any Centre County-area ZIP code, according to Zillow. The 16686 ZIP code near Tyrone observed a 3.8% drop, while seven other ZIP codes experienced median home value growth of less than 2% between July 2022 and 2023.
