Looking for a slice of pizza? How restaurant owner found a new spot in Bradenton Beach

A slice of pizza and a day at the beach, What could be better?

Wilder’s Slice of AMI is now serving at 103 Gulf Drive N. in Bradenton Beach. The restaurant’s Nov. 4 opening came with little fanfare, but with a whole lot of notice on social media.

“It’s gone crazy,” Ryan Wilder said of the instant success of the new pizzeria on Anna Maria Island.

The buzz over Wilder’s Slice of AMI has also helped drive more business to Wilder’s Pizza, the restaurant that Wilder and his wife, Erin, opened in 2021 at 827 14th St. W. in Bradenton.

Wilder’s Slice of AMI is in a space once occupied by Tahini Beach Cafe and The French Table.

Next door is Island Scoops, an ice cream shop owned by Walter Loos, who also owns Island Donut Company, around the corner at 110 Bridge St.

Wilder heard from Loos that the former Tahini Beach Cafe space was available the same day that he was closing on the sale of the Orlando pizzeria that he had owned for 16 years.

Also on the menu: subs and handhelds, including burgers, grouper sandwiches and club sandwiches. Rounding out the menu are desserts, beer and wine. Brunch plans are in the works.

It’s the kind of casual food fit for a day at the beach, or for anyone who happens to be in the neighborhood.
