Looking for spooky Halloween events? Find tricks, treats and terrors around Tallahassee

It’s that time of the year again, one of the most anticipated holidays of the year.  Many families decorate their homes with all sorts of unique pumpkins, fake spiderwebs, witches, and orange string lights.

Get creative and bring out those costumes, and don’t forget your trick or treat pails for lots of candy. Save the dates for all of the boo-tiful fun and spooky things to do for Halloween.

Howl at the Moon with Zoobilee

The Tallahassee Museum is holding its annual Zoobilee event with Upside Avenue performing, great food and open bar from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. Costumes are welcomed, so come out with friends enjoy this year’s theme Howl at the Moon to help support the Tallahassee Museum's education program. Tickets are $45 in advance until 5 p.m the day of the event; $50 at the door. Must be 21 years old or older to attend. Visit tallahasseemuseum.org.


Halloween Symphony Spooktacular

The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra is ready for you to get your groove on at the 7th annual free Halloween Symphony Spooktacular for the community from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park. The concert starts at 7 p.m.

Enjoy trick-or-treating, food trucks, costumes, and of course, your TSO playing spooky favorites like Thriller, Night on Bald Mountain, and Ghost Busters! Trick-or-treating begins at 6: p.m.. Concert begins at 7 p.m. Don’t forget to wear your costume. Guest artist Alexander Jimenez, conductor Ben Gunter, Emcee will be in attendance to rock the crowd while getting a bite to eat from food trucks or trick-or-treating. Visit tallahasseesymphony.org.

Terror of Tallahassee

The Terror of Tallahassee haunted house is back for 2022. The spooky house will be operating at 1408 Lake Bradford Road starting this weekend from 7-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 21-22, and Sunday, Oct. 23 from 8-10 p.m. The scary show goes on Oct. 27 from 7:30-10 p.m. and Oct. 28-29 from 7:30-11:30 p.m.; and Oct.30-31 7-11 p.m. Tickets range for $27-30 and are on sale now. Flying High Circus brings out the bones

The FSU Flying High Circus experience is sure be spooky as they are putting on a Halloween show series from Oct. 21-28, Thursday-Saturday, at 7 p.m. at the Jack Haskin Circus Complex, 269 Chieftan Way. FSU students, the community of Tallahassee and surrounding areas are encouraged to come out and enjoy the acrobats, juggling, dancers, and tightrope walkers Halloween style. Doors open one hour before show time. For tickets, ranging from $20-$10, visit tickets@fsu.edu.

Apalachicola Area Historical Society’s annual Fall Historic Ghost Walk

Come meet Apalachicola's citizens from the other side and hear local legends and lore from the Apalachicola Area Historical Society as they prepare for their annual Ghost walk from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the historic Chesnut Cemetery on Highway 98 in Apalachicola. Visitors are guided through the cemetery along candle-lit paths to meet some of Apalachicola’s historic citizens. Tickets are  $7 per person at the gate and all children 12 under are free. Ghost Tours in Monticello

If you love history, the Monticello Ghost Tours are for you. The South’s most haunted small town and home to many historic ghostly buildings is having an event for friends and family in Monticello-Jefferson County. Spiders, Scorpions & bats

The Wakulla Environmental Institute is putting on a unique event for all ages and families out to view live specimens. This special and fun educational event will be held from 11 a.m. -noon Saturday, Oct. 22, at 170 Preservation Way Crawfordville. Live specimens will safely be on hand for safe viewing. Can your pooch compete for Dog-O-Ween 2022?

Star 98.9-FM will be hosting it's 34th annual event for dogs and their owners dressed up for Halloween This year's Dog-o-ween will be held at Tom Brown Park from 10 a.m - 2 p.m. Oct. 30. Take the kids to Trunk or Treats

Maclay Gardens Trunk or Treat and car show:  Florida State Parks is hosting a free car show from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oc. 22, at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, 3540 Thomasville Road. Enjoy family Halloween fun at the park. Visit each car at the visitor center to collect candy, then head to the visitor center lawn for Junior Ranger activities. Drive Thru Trunk or Treat at Tucker Center: The Tucker Civic Center is hosting their second annual Drive Thru  Trunk or Treat at noon Saturday, Oct. 22.  This free event will take place in the Tucker Center parking lot, all ages are welcomed to come and enjoy the festivities with lots of candy. Come dressed in your costumes and enjoy your time driving around the Tucker Center. Trick or treaters are encouraged to stay in their cars.

Trunk or Treat at The Learning Pavilion: After a two year hiatus, trunk or treat is back for Halloween. Come out and get your car decorated, enjoy the parade, hayrides and more from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the Learning Pavilion, 3519 Easter Stanley Court.

7th Annual Trick or Treat Story Walk: The Wakulla County Public Library and Parks and Recreation center will have its seventh annual trick or treat story walk at Azalea Park, Azalea Park, 155 Azalea Drive, in Crawfordville from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.  This free event will include candy, food trucks, and other fun.

Halloween Hayride at Rolling Hills Ranch: The Rolling Hills Ranch, 6776 Quail Valley Road, is reserving spots for annual Halloween Hayride set for 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Activities will include feeding hay to horses, pony and horse rides, hayrides and costume contests. Bring out your little ones for free candy and a fun experience. Cost: $10 for adults and $5 for children under 13. Visit rollinghillsranchtallahassee.com.

2022 FBCTLH Basement Halloween Party: The First Baptist Church of Tallahassee will be hosting a basement Halloween party for fun and fellowship from 6-11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. RSVP at allevents.in/tallahassee.

Trunk or Treat at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church: All kids are welcome to this year’s free trunk or treat from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Good Samaritan UMC, 3720 Capital Circle SE.

Trunk or Treat Deer Lake Church: Deer Lake United Methodist Church is hosting a free trunk or treat event for kids, friends and family to come out and enjoy Halloween from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. Bring cars to 8013 Deerlake Road East with vehicles decorated. Trick or treaters will be able to walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy.

All Hallow's Eve: Advent Episcopal Church will offer its second annual All Hallow's Eve service at 6 p.m. Oct. 31, with trunk-or-treat immediately following. The service will begin at the church’s memorial garden and process into the church for spooky organ music and Bible stories. All are welcome, costumes are encouraged, and the event will end with plenty of time left for trick-or-treating. 815 Piedmont Drive.

John Wesley United Methodist Church: Toddler Trick or Treat with games, crafts and real doors.  4-6 p.m. Oct. 31 at the church, 1689 Old St. Augustine Road.

New Covenant Holy Temple: Free Fall-O-Ween Festival featuring food, games, prizes, and Trunk-or-Treat. The festival will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Oct.31 f with Trunk-or-Treating beginning at 6:45 p.m. 4420 Shelfer Road.

Trunk or Treat At Historic Capitol Museum: FDLE’s Capitol Police, in partnership with Tallahassee Downtown, MADD, Tallahassee Police Department, Downtown Improvement Authority, and the Historic Capitol Museum, will host a free “trunk or treat” at the Capitol Complex from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Capitol Plaza and on Adams Street starting at College Avenue. In addition to trunk or treat, there will be food trucks, face painting, glitter tattoos, first response vehicles, safety stations, DJ music, a bounce house and more. This event immediately precedes the Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s Movie Nights. They will be showing Disney’s Coco in the Capitol Courtyard at sundown. For more information, visit fdle.state.fl.us.
