Looking to support Small Business Saturday? Here are some local businesses

Small Business Saturday, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, urges consumers to spend their money at local businesses.

According to the National Federation of Independent Business, the day began in 2010 as a way to support small businesses recovering from the Great Recession that had started in December 2007.

Last year, shoppers spent almost $20 billion in support of Small Business Saturday, according to card issuer American Express.
