Fans can watch the cookie-making process in stores, from mixing and scooping to baking and icing, all from behind the glass counter. Cookies are made fresh daily with high-quality ingredients, and frosted or topped as they’re ordered.

Once baked, cookies are only kept in the store’s inventory for two hours before being donated to charity to keep products at the peak of freshness.

Customers can purchase a single cookie or have them packaged into one of Crumbl Cookies’ unique, oblong-shaped pink boxes in quantities of four, six or a dozen.

“We offer the ability to order on the app and pick up in the store," he said, "and curbside and delivery are available.”

The company’s website also indicates that Crumbl Cookies offers catering options and nationwide shipping.

The Crumbl Cookies brand was created in 2017 in Logan, Utah and has since expanded to more than 400 locations across 36 states in just five years, making it the fastest-growing cookie company in the United States.

A network of local franchise partners, managers and bakers, all new cookie recipes are tested in local markets and receive feedback before they appear on the menu.

The company also serves half pints of Crumbl Cream ice cream in six different flavors, although Haddock said supply chain issues have made it a challenge to keep ice cream offerings in stock in recent months.

Haddock has lived in Topeka for more than 20 years. He worked for Payless ShoeSource, leaving the company as senior vice president of operations. Eighteen months ago, he said he took a chance and invested, along with his partners, in the first of two Crumbl Cookies stores in the Kansas City area.

Haddock said the response there has been positive, and he’s looking forward to bringing the experience to his hometown.

“As a longtime Topeka resident, I’m really excited to bring Crumbl Cookies to Topeka,” Haddock said.

He said Crumbl customers can often be found posing in front of the brand’s iconic pink wall to take selfies with their cookie creations. The Topeka location will be the seventh Crumbl Cookies store in Kansas, with two locations in Wichita and four in Kansas City.

“We’re looking to open a total of 15 stores by the end of next year,” said Haddock.

While the Topeka store has filled its open positions for now, Haddock said he will hire again in the future, adding, “We’re always going to be on the lookout for good people.”
