Been Here: Queer, Black, and Proud

  • What: A ticketed short film and drag performance presentation preceded by a cocktail reception and followed by a panel.

  • When: Feb. 16 from 6-9 p.m.

  • Where: George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center‎ at 1165 Angelina St.

4th Annual Buda Black History Celebration

  • What: Free community event with a focus on arts, STEM, sports, education and business.

  • When: Feb. 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Where: Buda Amphitheater & City Park at 204 San Antonio St.

That's My Face Double Feature on Black Resistance

  • What: A free, back-to-back screening of films "The Rebellious Life of Rosa Parks" and "The Woman King" for people 18 years or older, followed by conversation and questions with UT academics.

  • When: Feb. 18 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Where: George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center‎ at 1165 Angelina St.

Black Future Market

  • What: A vendor market featuring DJ sets, live interviews and more than 30 Black-owned businesses.

  • When: Feb. 19 from 1-5 p.m.

  • Where: Republic Square Park at 422 Guadalupe St.

Fashion Through Self-Expression with Kam Franklin

  • What: A talk about fashion with Kam Franklin, lead singer for the Houston band The Suffers.

  • When: Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.

Let's Make HairStory

  • What: A community discussion on the CROWN Act hosted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and Pi Omega Zeta Chapter.

  • When: Feb. 21 from 6-7:30 p.m.

  • Where: Abundant Life Church at 1006 Old Austin Hutto Road.

Lonesome Nights Presented by the Carver Museum, KOOP Radio and ThunderCloud Subs

  • What: A night of music from Black artists Kam Franklin, Ivy Roots and Pearl Z.

  • When: Feb. 22 at 8 p.m.

  • Where: The Sahara Lounge at 1413 Webberville Road.

Black History Month Kids' Day

  • What: Crafts, music and activities inspired by the theme "Black Resistance."

  • When: Feb. 25 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Where: George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center‎ at 1165 Angelina St.

Sounds of Blackness

  • What: A $20 hour-and-a-half Black History lesson from FLAVA Dance Company and community members using song, dance and spoken word.

  • When: Feb. 25 from 3:30-5 p.m.

  • Where: Northeast Early College High School at 7104 Berkman Drive.

Eat the World

  • What: A free cooking demonstration of traditional African American food.

  • When: Feb. 25 from 2-3:15 p.m.

  • Where: Austin Central Library, Austin Public Library at 710 West Cesar Chavez St.

A Celebration of Black Creators Photo Meetup

  • What: A meetup for photographers and models featuring a gallery and backdrops with lighting setups.

  • When: Feb. 25 from 2-6 p.m.

  • Where: Precision Camera and Video at 2438 West Anderson Lane.
