Looking for ways to stay cool during a hot Summer? Here's a list of things that can help

Summer is here and the temperatures are rising by the minute in the Metropolitan area. The heat index is expected has been hovering around 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson.

Finding ways to stay cool in the remaining hot days of the summer break can be challenging as many are still without power as a result of the Sunday night severe thunderstorms.

To help combat the Summer heat while having fun doing it, we've offered a few priceless ways to do so.

Kingston Frazier Memorial Splash Pad

The splash pad is named in memory of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier, kidnapped and murdered in 2017. The park will also soon include a memorial plaque honoring the lives of other youths lost in the community

Not only do children have access to the splash pad but there area also offers a playground, pavilion, hiking trail for adults and a memorial wall to honor children who have died in the community.

Shiloh Splash Park

Located in the heart of downtown Brandon the Shiloh Splash Park is a perfect way to beat the summer heat.

The park has various things to do for children and adults, with soccer fields, baseball fields, walking trails and picnic spots.

Also, the Shiloh splash park includes a water mushroom, spray rings, dump bucket, ground geysers, butterfly falls, water palm trees, water cannons and the froggy slide.

  • Time: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; private party times- 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Admission: $5 for adults; free for children one and under and ages 50 and older.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a play park in Ridgeland with an obstacle course, playpens and kid-friendly trampolines.

Sky Zone allows residents in the Jackson area and visitors to have endless fun while remaining safe.

Jumpers are set up by size and different ages to limit the chance of injuries.

The park also has three monthly membership options at different costs and perks. "The price range for those memberships includes $19.99 for a basic membership, $24 for elite membership, and $39.99 for an elite plus membership," according to Sky Zone's website.

In addition, the trampoline park has a party room for birthday parties, casual meetings, and even bachelor parties.

On Saturdays, the trampoline park hosts an event called "Glow All Ages." The park is turned into a jumping dancing club with lasers, music and blacklights.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park is an excellent option if you want to have endless fun.

Defy Jackson Jumping Park

Defy Jackson is a jumping park with a playpen, trampoline park with a basketball goal, zip line, battle beams, wall tramp, ninja course and stunt falls.

The child-friendly jumping park is located in Jackson.

On weekdays, tickets are $19.99 for a 90-minute jump and $24.99 for an all-day pass.

Defy Jackson also offers 10% off birthday parties of 10 or more if you book on Monday through Thursday, according to the company's website.

Also, the park offers three membership options: a basic membership for $17.99, $21.99 for elite membership, and $17.49 per person for a select family membership with 4 to 6 members.

In addition, guests must agree to a waiver before participating in an activity and comply with the park's rules on its website.
