<p>The BET Awards took place this Sunday, June 26, in Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater.</p><p>The annual awards show—established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network—celebrates African Americans in music, acting, and other fields of entertainment.<br></p><p>Lizzo kicked off the show, hosted by Taraji P. Henson—who had at least eight outfit changes—with a performance of her latest hit, "About Damn Time." </p><p>Among the winners of the night were Jazmine Sullivan (best female R&B/pop artist), The Weeknd (best male R&B/pop artist), Megan Thee Stallion (best female hip hop artist), Latto (best new artist), Zendaya (best actress), and Will Smith (best actor).</p><p>In their speeches, several stars commented on the highly controversial Supreme Court decision to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade</em>, which occurred Friday.</p><p>Look ahead for the best red-carpet and stage looks of the night.</p>

<p>The singer walked the carpet in a <a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a40432034/lizzo-gucci-gown-bet-awards-2022/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:dramatic navy feathered gown" class="link ">dramatic navy feathered gown</a> custom made by Gucci.</p>

<p>She changed into a gold sequined jumpsuit to perform.</p>

<p>The "Make Me Feel" singer wore a black sheer Roberto Cavalli harness gown.</p>

<p>The actress walked the carpet in a dazzling silver sequin Tom Ford gown with a one-shoulder strap that wrapped around her neck.</p>

<p>Henson, who had about 15 outfit changes during the awards show, took the stage in a furry grey-and-red dress and strappy heels.</p>

<p>Another of her best looks was this rose-patterned halter-top jumpsuit, which she paired with an ivory-colored cape and white pointed-toe heels.</p>

<p>The rapper wore a tan trench-coat-like dress with a built-in corset bodysuit by Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture.</p>

<p>The <em>Black-ish</em> star shone in a glittering silver Dolce & Gabbana dress and sandal heels.</p>

<p>In a full '90s-inspired look, Marsai Martin accepted the Young Stars Award at the Microsoft Theater.</p>

<p>The rapper wore a green-and-yellow houndstooth coat dress by Area with matching neon furry boots.</p>

<p><em>The Umbrella Academy</em> star looked lovely in a bright pink feathered gown, black opera gloves, and matching heels.</p>

<p>The singer made an entrance in a bright red two-piece ensemble with silver embellishments and matching heels.</p>

<p>Porter wore a baggy grey sweater with dramatic lifted shoulders from Rick Owens's fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection. He paired the look with a matching skirt and platform ankle boots.</p>

<p>The <em>Hitch</em> star looked pretty in a pink minidress with dramatic sleeves and matching heels.</p>

<p>The actress wore a colorful Louis Vuitton ensemble with a chunky black belt and golden platform heels.</p>

<p>The singer wore a red-and-pink tulle gown by Carolina Herrera.</p>

<p>For her performance, she changed into a silver and hot pink minidress and matching pink thigh-high boots. She accessorized with silver jewelry and a tiara.</p>

<p>The rapper wore a sleek black dress with a feather trim by Andre Emery.</p>
