At this year’s Grand National in Liverpool the organisers are offering a big budget prize for the winner of it’s Style Award, which was introduced in 2015. So the stakes are even higher for race-goers at Aintree.
Fashion is a big part of the event for female attendees, hoping to impress with their take on formal dress for a day at the races.
While in the past, women have faced backlash over their minimal outfits, organiser John Baker says "This year we will have a style code rather than a dress code. We are trying to move it forward and make it a little bit more aspirational than it had become.“
