This Is What It Looks Like When Teens Fight Climate Change
Miami, Florida is ground zero for climate change—a setting for hurricanes and constant flooding. The local government has yet to act, but students have made it clear that they want change. That's why Zero Hour, a youth led movement that focuses on taking action around climate change, decided to host a summit there earlier this month. From July 12 to July 14, the youth activists at This Is Zero Hour participated and co-organized the Youth Climate Summit in Miami. Organized in just a few months, with over 350 participants, speakers, and panelists from across the world, the goal of the summit was to train young people on how to be better climate activists so they can continue the fight on the frontlines.
The fight against the climate crisis is won not only through direct action, but through education and community. The below photo diary, compiled by youth leaders of Zero Hour, will give a glimpse into all that went into this event—but it will also show the possibilities of youth power.
