After the Eagles hired Nick Sirianni as their next head coach, many speculated that Carson Wentz would return.

While there have been reports that Wentz is likely to stay after Doug Pederson was fired, it is still possible the team could trade Wentz as the team has not made it clear that Wentz is still their franchise quarterback.

Making the offseason scenario even more interesting is the news that Detroit and quarterback Matthew Stafford have agreed to part ways this offseason.

That news could have an effect on a potential trade for Wentz, with many teams preferring Stafford who is a sure thing opposed to Wentz who is likely going to be a reclamation project.

Stafford is coming off a 26 touchdown 10 interception season on a team that many would consider being bad, while Wentz is coming off a 16 touchdown 15 interception season, including being benched for second-round draft pick Jalen Hurts for the final four games.

Despite the fact that Stafford has always been on a considerably bad team, his numbers have always been the opposite of what a bad team’s quarterback. numbers look like. His rookie season is the only season he threw more interceptions than touchdowns.

The teams who could potentially make a trade for Stafford are Washington, Denver, New England, Indianapolis, and San Francisco. Considering Deshaun Watson wanting out of Houston and the number of quarterbacks taken in the draft, the market for an expensive Wentz seems to be unlikely.
