The Loop NFL Picks: Week 10

Every Sunday, Kevin Cusick makes his predictions against the latest Las Vegas point spread, the way God intended …

Vikings at Bills (-7½):

Minnesota is a surprising 7-1 and facing its toughest test of the season in western New York, and the nation’s focus is on the quarterbacks. Buffalo’s Josh Allen is considered questionable because of an elbow injury, while the Vikings’ Kirk Cousins is considered very questionable after the discovery of severely dislocated chains. Pick: Bills by 1

Cowboys at Packers (+5½):

Dallas coach Mike McCarthy says he’s looking forward to his first game in Green Bay since being fired in 2018. McCarthy’s reign in Wisconsin, which included one Super Bowl title, was a far different time, back when the Packers were occasionally capable of beating the Detroit Lions. Pick: Cowboys by 3

Commanders at Eagles (-10½):

Washington lost despite getting a Curtis Samuel touchdown when back judge Steve Patrick blocked Vikings safety Camryn Bynum. Slow-motion replays showed conclusively that, in sports history, this was the single worst officiating move by someone not named Angel Hernandez. Pick: Eagles by 9

Colts at Raiders (-5½):

Indianapolis fired head coach Frank Reich, replacing him with ESPN’s Jeff Saturday. The former Indy center was not the first choice of Jim Irsay, but the Colts’ owner was not willing to meet the salary demands of Stephen A. Smith, Scott Van Pelt or any available Manning. Pick: Raiders by 1

Cardinals at Rams (-3½):

Former Los Angeles receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is getting close to being ready to return from the knee injury he suffered in the Super Bowl. He’s not expected to return to the Rams, though, as he would prefer going to a team with a pulse. Pick: Rams by 7

Seahawks vs Buccaneers (-2½):

Tom Brady dropped a press conference F bomb after leading the Buccaneers to a comeback victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Rams. The veteran quarterback usually limits such profanity to every time he drops back to pass behind the Bucs’ worthless O line. Pick: Buccaneers by 7

Lions at Bears (-3½):

Chicago’s Justin Fields broke the NFL record for a quarterback by rushing for 178 yards in the Bears’ loss to Miami. Longtime fans were impressed, as it was the first good game played by a Chicago quarterback since the Reagan administration. Pick: Bears by 7

Saints at Steelers (+2½):

Former Pittsburgh legend Terry Bradshaw stunned his colleagues by making a joke about suicide during last week’s “FOX NFL Sunday.” It was especially shocking to viewers, who usually hear such outrageous and inflammatory comments only on FOX’s news channel. Pick: Steelers by 3

Jaguars at Chiefs (-9½):

Kansas City needed Patrick Mahomes to throw 68 times last Sunday night to beat Tennessee, just two short of the NFL single-game record. What’s even more concerning is the fact that Mahomes is also the Chiefs’ only effective runner. Pick: Chiefs by 12

Browns at Dolphins (-3½):

There was a Facebook campaign this week to have fans dress up for a white-out in the Dolphins’ stadium on Sunday. It will be tough to pull off because, as with most games in South Florida, at least half the fans will be rooting for the visiting team. Pick: Dolphins by 7

OTHER GAMES

Texans at Giants (-6½): Pick: Giants by 3

Broncos at Titans (-3½): Pick: Titans by 7

Chargers at 49ers (-6½): Pick: 49ers by 7

BYES

Ravens, Bengals, Patriots, Jets

RECORD

Week 9: 10-3 straight up’ 5-8 vs. spread
