Loose Women star Katie Piper has revealed a new hair transformation.

The presenter and activist shared the new dark look on Instagram ahead of an appearance on the ITV show yesterday (January 24).

"New hair, who dis? Ready for todays @loosewomen," Katie captioned the post.

Appearing later on the show, presenter Christine Lampard admitted she didn’t initially recognise her co-star, quipping: "I thought we had a completely new panellist today as well as Jill [Scott], and it was Katie with new hair."

Katie then revealed that she was getting used to the new look, adding: "I always feel that when you change your hair colour you have to change your make-up, your jewellery, your wardrobe.

"I’ve experimented with my hair quite a lot over the years, it's something I quite enjoy doing. I never get frightened about it," she added.

"I've been purple, I’ve been jet black, I’ve been white-blonde. I've got different foundations in all my make-up kits depending where I'm going to go with it."

Last year, Katie underwent an operation to stitch her eye closed, explaining at the time on Loose Women: "I had a planned procedure called a tarsorrhaphy, which is a semi-permanent closure of the eye.

"It's an operation done in theatre and your eye is sort of fully or partially stitched up. Some people might be familiar with it, you normally see it when somebody has some kind of disease of the cornea. And closing the eye gives it the optimum environment for it to heal.

“So I've had quite a lot of problems with my eye in the last year-and-a-half. I don't like to go on about it because there's always somebody worse off.”

She added: "It's been quite painful, so it's quite a relief for me to finally have it stitched up because it's a lot more comfortable.

"It's not permanent, it's probably going to be like a year like this and then hopefully I can have it opened."
