Loose Women's Ruth Langsford has spoken about the possibility of returning to This Morning.

Ruth was one of the presenters of ITV's brunch-time magazine show for years, often alongside her real-life husband Eammon Holmes, until 2022.

Eammon has moved onto GB News now, but Ruth is still with the channel as part of the Loose Women panel. Does that mean that a return could be on the cards?

Perhaps not, as Ruth told Hello magazine that: "I think that ship has sailed."

The presenter did diplomatically add that it's not a total full stop on her This Morning career, as she added: "Listen, never say never. I adore that show and it was a dream to work on it.

"I worked on it before Eamonn, actually people forget that. I say to him: 'I took you to work, don't forget!'"

Last year saw both Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby leave This Morning. Since then, various presenters like Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Rylan Clark, Emma Willis, Dermot O'Leary, Craig Doyle, Rochelle Humes and Cat Deeley have been taking turns at fronting the show, but permanent hosts haven't been announced at the time of writing.

One person who definitely won't be taking over as full-time host is Money Saving Expert's Martin Lewis, who explained that he's got way too much on his plate to even consider it.

"A few stories have appeared that I am bookies' favourite to take over as presenter of This Morning. Hilarious!" he wrote a few months back.

"If anyone put money on that they'd lose it [because] A) I've rightly not been sounded out in any way at all. B) In any case I would and have rejected all daily presenting gigs, I'm already over full time with MSE and my show etc. C) I'd be crap at it (the lighter side especially) and wouldn't put me or you through it, there's far better out there."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV.
