The Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative People Fund Board approved a $2,174.59 grant for Hospice of North Central Ohio’s Camp Hope children’s bereavement camp. The grant will be used to purchase Child Sympathy Grief Boxes.

The boxes will be given to children participating in the 2023 Camp Hope on June 16, 17, 23 and 24 at Pleasant Hill campgrounds.

Camp Hope was created by HNCO in 1996 in response to a need to address the needs of grieving children. The camp is provided by HNCO free-of-charge to grieving children ages 6-17.

Ralph Tomassi, HNCO Chief Development Officer/Senior Administrator stated, “The LMRE People Fund has and continues to provide The Margin of Excellence for our core mission programs such as bereavement," said Ralph Tomassi, HNCO chief development officer/senior administrator. "We are grateful for the support we receive for this extraordinary camp which resonates with everyone who has experienced grief."
