Loretta Lynn Fans Have a Lot to Say After Seeing Kacey Musgraves's Grammys Tribute

Like years before, the 2023 Grammy Awards honored the lives of late music industry legends and this year, we're willing to bet there wasn't a single dry eye in the house when Kacey Musgraves took to the stage.

The "Rainbow" singer began singing surrounded by a floral arrangement and simple red gown that perfectly matched each rose. She gave a sentimental performance of "Coal Miner's Daughter" to honor the late Loretta Lynn, and the moment was made even more meaningful as Kacey used Loretta's original guitar to perform her moving tribute.

The country music icon passed last October at the age of 90 and left behind a lifelong legacy. She enjoyed a long career that spanned over seven decades and helped open doors for women's voices in the country music industry.

Loretta's official Instagram account shared a snapshot of the Grammy tribute with the caption, "Thank you, @spaceykacey for this beautiful tribute. The love all of you have shown us for our mom is beyond words. #GRAMMYs @recordingacademy."

Kacey responded by saying, "I love y’all. Thank you for trusting me with that moment. ♥️" and went on to share a special message with fans on her own Instagram. In her post she wrote, "Ten year old me singing Loretta’s songs probably wouldn’t have believed that I would have ever had the opportunity to hold onto the exact object she made magic with and channeled her greatness through for decades." "Thank you to her daughters for trusting me with this great moment of honor," she continued.

Kacey has always been vocal about Loretta's impact on her career. Not only did the two perform together at the 2014 CMA Awards, but she dubbed her and Dolly as some of her biggest influences during an interview at the 2019 ACM Awards.
