Talkshow host Lorraine Kelly has weighed in on her apparent feud with Conservative MP Esther McVey.

Earlier this week, the two endured a rather awkward encounter via Good Morning Britain, when co-anchor Piers Morgan asked Lorraine if she remembered Esther from their days working on GMTV.

This moment has now gone viral.

Making an appearance on yesterday's (June 14) episode of The Last Leg, Lorraine was given the opportunity to explain herself after her live-on-air snubbing of the politician, who was eliminated from the Conservative party leadership contest earlier this week.

"I honestly genuinely don't remember her at GMTV because I was doing my own show, so I was on my own and they were doing their thing," she said. "And she didn't last very long."

The Scottish star elaborated: "You know what it was, it was Monday morning and I was fed up because I'm fed up with all the toxic political landscape and we deserve better and I think she just… that was the final straw kind of thing."

Speaking on Good Morning Britain the day after that awkward moment, Lorraine said that there was "no battle" between the pair – but added: "I strongly disagree with her on LGBT rights and I just thought to myself, 'I've had enough of this... now we have got a state in Britain where people are at each other's throats and it has to stop'."

During her Last Leg appearance, Lorraine went on to share a rather queasy story involving Piers Morgan after the encounter.

"The only thing that really worried me, because I said the next day to Piers Morgan, 'I'm really angry about this. I'm just so angry and annoyed'.

"And he said, which is really worrying, he said: 'When you're angry, it really turns me on'."

Yikes.

The Last Leg airs on Channel 4.
