Los Gatos Council To Weigh Pilot Parklet Program Extension

LOS GATOS, CA — What seemed like a good idea before the coronavirus crisis has turned out to be a lifeline for many local restaurants since the economy turned sideways.

Now the Los Gatos Town Council will consider extending the pilot parklet program that was established before the pandemic.
Up for discussion at Tuesday night's meeting 6 p.m. Zoom council meeting is the possibility of extending the program for five to seven years.

The council will also consider phasing in options to facilitate more outdoor seating and business activities.

The implementation of platforms, ramps, overhead coverage among other proposed modifications under consideration to support the program through the winter months.

The council will also discuss additional elements to aid the local businesses amid the pandemic.
