Lottery officials: Wrong number announced in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing

If you had a ticket for the May 10 Mega Millions drawing, you might want to check your the numbers again.

The Mega Millions website issued a statement Wednesday saying the host of the Mega Millions Tuesday night drawing incorrectly called the Mega Ball a 6 instead of a 9.

The 9 Mega Ball was drawn into the chamber and is the official result. The results of the drawing were audited by Preston CPA.

The jackpot was an estimated $86 million with a cash option of $49.1 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

The official results for the May 10, 2022, drawing, according to the website are: white balls 15, 19, 20, 61, and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 9. The Megaplier was 3x.

When is the Mega Millions drawing?

Drawings are every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next drawing is this Friday, May 13. The estimated jackpot is $99 million with a cash payout estimated at $57 million.

Tickets to Mega Millions cost $2 per play.

There are nine total ways to win a prize, from the jackpot to $2.

Pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Megaball number from 1 to 25. Choose Easy Pick or Quick Pick to have the terminal randomly pick numbers for you. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in the drawing.

What's the Megaplier?

Most states offer the Megaplier feature, which increases non-jackpot prizes from two, three, four and five times.

It costs an additional $1 per play. Before each regular Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier is drawn. From a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with "2X," three with "4X" and one with "5X."
