Lottery player predicted big win when he was a kid. Years later, it finally came true

A longtime lottery player said he knew from a young age that he would win the lottery one day.

It came true a few years ago when he won $15,000 playing Pick 5 in Maryland, but a bigger prize was ahead of him.

The Harford County man continued to play the lottery, repeating the phrase “I am a winner” each time as a “manifestation practice.”

The lucky player won a $50,000 prize after picking family birthday numbers in a May 1 drawing, Maryland lottery officials said.

The man almost forgot to check his numbers, he told lottery officials, but he remembered while he was on the phone with his mom the day after the drawing.

He took his ticket to the retailer to confirm his win.

“I stood there for a second frozen,” he said. “I did not believe what I was hearing.”

The man plans to do something nice for his family and then save the rest of his winnings. He also plans to continue to play the lottery.

“A win is a win! I thought about giving up before but I’m more motivated than ever to win again,” he told officials.

Harford County is about a 30-mile drive northeast of Baltimore.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
