Lottery player scratches Virginia ticket — then starts jumping and hollering
It takes a lot for Alfred “Leon” Law to get excited.
“I don’t normally jump up and down and holler about anything!” the Danville, Virginia, resident told Virginia Lottery officials, according to a Sept. 21 news release.
When Law recently scratched his Cash is King ticket, though, his prize elicited an outrageous response, according to officials. He had won a $500,000 top prize.
“I just kept looking at it,” Law told officials.
Now, Law said he plans to use his prize money to help his family.
“I like to see people happy,” he said in the release.
Law’s winning ticket came from Glade Hill Minute Market, which is about 160 miles southwest of Richmond.
