Lottery player uncovers ‘unbelievable’ prize in Michigan after getting text from friend

A Michigan man has big plans after winning an “unbelievable” lottery prize, officials said.

The Oakland County resident bought his winning Club Keno ticket from a grocery store in Warren, according to a Sept. 27 news release from the Michigan Lottery.

“I got a text from a friend asking if I won big playing Club Keno because he saw a $200,000 prize was won at the store I usually buy my tickets from,” the man told lottery officials. “I’d just bought a Club Keno ticket from that store, so I pulled it out of my pocket and scanned it on the Lottery app.”

When the $200,000 prize appeared on his screen, the 45-year-old man was stunned.

“I’d never won a big prize like this, so it was pretty unbelievable,” he told lottery officials.

The man recently claimed his six-figure prize from lottery headquarters.

“I plan to use my winnings to start a business and start building my empire,” he told lottery officials.

Oakland County is about 27 miles northwest of Detroit.
