Louder Than Life 2023 lineup: Your guide to who's performing at the metal music festival

Get ready, Loudmouths. Louder Than Life is back!

The heavy metal, rock, punk, and alternative headliners music festival has a rocking lineup of nearly 100 performers heading to Louisville for the four-day event held Sept. 21-24 at the Highland's Festival Grounds, 937 Phillips Lane.

Headliners include Foo Fighters, Green Day (making its festival debut), Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Pantera, Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth, Turnstile and Rancid.

“The fans spoke and we listened. The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Tool and Avenged Sevenfold were our most fan-requested bands for 2023, so being able to deliver this massive lineup to them is so special,” Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents, said in a news release. "Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond (held the weekend before), are the eight biggest days in music and it’s all happening in Louisville this September."

More than 100 music acts make up the 2023 Louder Than Life festival including Falling In Reverse, 311, Pierce The Veil, Run The Jewels, Corey Taylor, Coheed and Cambria, Royal Blood, Parkway Drive, Bad Omens and BABYMETAL.

Rivers Cuomo, lead vocals and guitarist, left, and Scott Shriner, bassist, of Weezer play together during the first show of the Weezer x Pixies 2019 tour at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville, Ky. on Friday, March 8, 2019.

In addition to music, festivalgoers will also be able to enjoy four days of award-winning whiskey, bourbons, spirits, craft beer and some of the best food Louisville has to offer, as well as sponsor activations that celebrate the bourbon culture and culinary heritage of Kentucky.

For 2023, the Louder Than Life festival will be hosted by Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin.

“Louder Than Life always delivers a huge weekend and is one of the top economic events annually for Louisville, further cementing the city as a top destination for music festivals," Cleo Battle, president and CEO of Louisville Tourism, said in the release. "Bourbon City loves welcoming fans for America’s Biggest Rock Festival, inviting them to experience the city’s Southern hospitality, area attractions and of course urban bourbon experiences."

In 2022, 275,000 fans turned out for the back-to-back DWP festivals, creating over $43 million in local economic impact, an attendance boom at all bourbon distilleries along the urban bourbon trail, and more than 50,000 hotel nights.

A late add, TikTok luminary Oliver Anthony is set for two distinct performances on Thursday and Friday at the festival's esteemed Kroger Big Bourbon Bar. Specific set times for Anthony's engagements will be disclosed on their respective show days.
