Loudonville Library continues summer readings, plus events for July

The following are events and programs are plannd at the Loudonville Public Library:

Youth Summer Reading Program, All Together: Through July 15. Babies to teens can enjoy a summer filled with reading, programs, fun, and prizes.

Adult Summer Reading: Treasure Seekers Find the Library, through July 15. Adults and seniors can join for a trove of reading, programs, and fun.

Summer Food Service: Monday-Friday, July 3-Aug. 11, noon-1 p.m. Kids aged 0-18 can have a free nutritious lunch served in the café. Lunches must be eaten at the library. Provided by the Ohio Department of Education and The Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

Learn to use the Perrysville Branch Kiosk: 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5; 10-11 a.m. Wednesdays, July 12, 19 and 26, and Saturday, July 15. Visit the 24-hour Library Kiosk in Perrysville to sign up for a library card and learn how to use the kiosk. The kiosk is accessible from the parking lot of the Perrysville Fire Station. Scheduled times will be cancelled during inclement weather or if the library is closed. Take this opportunity to complete the Perrysville Branch portion of summer reading!

Cornhole & Ice Cream Social: 6 p.m. Monday, July 3. Join for a night of cornhole games and ice cream sundaes. Children will be able to get their faces painted.

Take and Makes: Monday, July 10. A new Take and Make will be available the first day of each week. They are first come first served. Take and Makes can be reserved by calling the library on Monday. Limit one per person per week. While supplies last.

Outdoor Storytime with Kingston: 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5. Enjoy a special outdoor Story-time with friends from Kingston of Ashland.

Teen Game Day: 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6. Sample a variety of board and card games, while enjoying snacks with friends! Then check out your favorites. Sign-up is required. For 6th graders and up.

Lego Club Fridays: 11 a.m. July 7 and 14. Join on Fridays for engineering and imagination in action with Legos.

Lunch Bunch: Food Service Fridays: July 7 and 14. During summer food services provided by the Foodbank, a different craft will be available each week.

Photographer, Ian Adams – Ohio Cemeteries & Burial Grounds: Monday, July 10, 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy this new program from Ian Adams! Ian is an environmental photographer based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, specializing in natural, rural, historical, and garden photography in and around Ohio. Since 1985, more than 6,000 of his color photographs have been published in books, posters, calendars, magazines, and other publications. We will have giveaways and Ian will have books available for purchase.

Ohio Wildlife Center: Monday, July 10, 6 p.m., Central Park. An education instructor from Ohio Wildlife Center will be here to teach about the center, the history of Ohio’s Native wildlife, and inspirational stories about our animal residents. There will also be some animal friends.

Pinterest Power: Tuesday, July 11, 6:30 p.m., or Wednesday, July 12, 10:30 a.m. You will make a buried planter. Each session is limited to 12. A sample will be on display in the library and posted on our Facebook page.

Storytime: Tuesdays and Wednesday’s at 11 a.m. July 11 and 12. Children ages 2-7 years old can join us for stories, songs, fingerplays, and crafts. Caregivers need to be present and younger siblings can attend. Both days are identical Storytimes. Sign-up is required.

World Food Tour: 1 p.m. Thursday, July 13. Tweens and teens can travel the world through food and drink. Sample snacks from around the globe and get a passport stamped in the process. Sign-up is required. Grades 6th and up.

Nerf Night: Friday, July 14, 5:30-7 p.m. Any 4th-8th grader is invited to attend after-hours Nerf Night. Sign-up and permission slips are required. You are responsible for your own Nerf gear.

Twisted Stitchers: Tuesdays, 11 a.m. July 18. Any needle crafter welcome. We meet in the Café the first and third Tuesday of each month. So, bring your current project, enjoy snacks, and share with others. Want to learn to knit or crochet? We have teachers in the group.

Pool Party: Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. July 18. Enjoy an evening of swimming with your friends for free at the Loudonville Swimming Pool. The concession stand will be open to purchase snacks. Keep checking our Facebook page for more information.

Book Discussion Group: 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, Golden Center This month we will be doing You Pick – You Read – You Share! Come and join us for snacks and a lively discussion with other readers.
