Loudonville library storytimes, make-take, community walk, Glow Party, on tap in June

The following are June programs at the Loudonville Public Library:

All Together Now, summer reading program through July 15, babies to teens can enjoy reading, programs, fun and prizes. Sign-up is underway.

Treasure Seekers Find the Library, adult summer reading program through July 15, adults and seniors can join for a trove of reading, programs and fun. Signup is under way.

Summer Food Service, noon-1 p.m. Monday-Friday through Aug. 11. Kids aged 0-18 can have a free nutritious lunch served in the café. Lunches must be eaten at the library. Provided by the Ohio Department of Education and The Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

Summer Reading Kickoff: Touch-a-Truck, 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 5 5-7 p.m. Have a family fun night alongside signing up for the summer reading program. There will be several vehicles along with food trucks.

Learn to use the Perrysville Branch Kiosk, Wednesday, June 7, 5-6 p.m.; Wednesdays, June 14, 21 and 28, 10-11 a.m.; Saturday, June 17, 10-11 a.m. Visit the 24-hour Library Kiosk in Perrysville to sign up for a library card and learn how to use the kiosk. The kiosk is accessible from the parking lot of the Perrysville Fire Station. Scheduled times will be cancelled during inclement weather or if the library is closed. Take this opportunity to complete the Perrysville Branch portion of summer reading!

Take and Makes Mondays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26. A new Take and Make will be available the first day of each week. They are first come first served. Take and Makes can be reserved by calling the library on Monday. Limit one per person per week. While supplies last.

Storytime 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 Children ages 2-7 years old can join for stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts. Caregivers need to be present and younger siblings can attend. Both days are identical Storytimes. Sign-up is required.

Twisted Stitchers, 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays, June 6 and 20. Any needle crafter welcome. Meet in the Café the first and third Tuesday of each month. Take a current project, enjoy snacks and share with others. Want to learn to knit or crochet? Teachers are in the group.

Community Walk, 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8. Tweens and teens can join some of the library staff on a walk,= that will include a scavenger hunt. There will be ice cream at the end of the walk. The group will be back at the library by 2:30 pm. Sign-up and permission slips are required. For sixth graders and up.

Lego Club Fridays, 11 a.m. June 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 11 a.m. Join Fridays for engineering and imagination in action with Legos.

Lunch Bunch: Summer Food Service, Fridays, June 9, 16, 23 and 30. During summer food services provided by the Foodbank, the library will have a different craft each week.

Movie & Snacks, 1 p.m. Monday, June 12. "The Bad Guys" (PG) will be shown. There will be popcorn, candy and drinks.

Photographer, Ian Adams – Ohio Public Gardens & Arboretums, 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 12. Adams is an environmental photographer based in Cuyahoga Falls, specializing in natural, rural, historical and garden photography in and around Ohio. Since 1985, more than 6,000 of his color photographs have been published in books, posters, calendars, magazines and other publications. There will be will have giveaways. Books will be available for purchase.

Pinterest Power, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, or 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14. Make a treasure box. Each session is limited to 12. A sample will be on display in the library and posted on its Facebook page.

Prom Jr., 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 14. Children in grades prek-three can attend a prom just for them. Take a friend and best attire for a night of dancing, refreshments and fun.

Glow Party, 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15. Tweens and teens can join for games, art, music and snacks. Dress to glow. Wear neon, white or glow in the dark clothes. Sign-up is required. For sixth graders and up.

Adult Book Discussion Group, 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, in the Golden Center. This month’s book is "Marple: Twelve New Mysteries" by 12 authors who recreate Miss Jane Marple. Pick up a copy at the circulation desk. Come and join for snacks and a lively discussion with other readers.

Ohio School of Falconry, 6 p.m. Monday, June 19. Raptor Roadshow will bring up to five raptors (hawks, owls, buzzards and falcons) to the library, while sharing how we can be friends and advocates to these amazing birds. Some selected volunteers will have hands-on experience with the visitors.

Teen Murder Mystery, 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22. Tweens and teens can join for murder, intrigue and pizza. Come crack the case, while hanging out with friends. Sign-up is required. For sixth graders and up.

Stuffed Animal Workshop, 5-6 p.m. Thursday, June 22, or 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 23. Children will be able to choose a stuffed animal to stuff on their own. This is a drop in program. Advance sign-up is required.

Family Game Night, 6-7 p.m. Monday, June 26. Spend time together as a family with a pizza dinner and board games. Sign-up is required.

Firetruck Spray, 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28. The Loudonville Fire Department will visit to spray water like a giant sprinkler. A change of clothes and a towel are recommended.

Teen Treat Yourself, 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29. Did you know self-care provides you with the tools to sustain your mental and physical health so you can be your best self? Tweens and teens will try low stress hands on activities and learn some tools for taking care of yourself. Healthy refreshments. Sign-up is required. For sixth graders and up.
