Louise Linton Returns to Hollywood in a New Comedy About a Serial Killer
Most Americans know Louise Linton as the wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin (and a viral, black leather-gloved holder of money). But before she was married, Linton was a working actress, appearing in films including Rules Don't Apply, a 2016 movie starring Lily Collins about the people who worked for Howard Hughes, and Scavengers, a sci-fi project about aliens.
Fans of the British royal family (and TV movies inspired by its members) may also recognize Linton for her role as Kate Middleton's friend Vanessa Rose Bellows in William & Kate, which aired on Lifetime right before the royal wedding in 2011.
Linton has taken the past few years off from her acting pursuits-her last credited performance on IMDB is from 2016-but now, she's returning to Hollywood as the writer, director, and star of a new comedy called Me, You, Madness.
Per Deadline, the project also stars Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick, and the plot follows "a young thief (Westwick) who, while casing a secluded mansion in Malibu, discovers he is robbing the home of a serial killer."
Speaking with the publication, Linton raved about Westwick and his work on the film.
"Thanks to my killer crew and cast, the movie is every bit the playful 80’s homage I dreamed of when I wrote it," Linton said. "It was a joyful set, even under pressure. Ed Westwick is a phenomenal actor, collaborator, friend and creative force who became my co-pilot on many creative aspects of the film."
Linton also posted a first-look at the film, in which Westwick appears to have a bloody hand, on her Instagram account today.
She only recently returned to the social media platform in December after infamously mocking a commenter in August of 2017 and making a public apology (more on that scandal here).
Me, You, and Madness also marks Westwick's return to acting after a hiatus. He was accused of sexual assault-accusations which he strongly denied-by three women in 2018. Charges were never filed due to lack of evidence.
At this point, it's unclear exactly when the film will premiere, but we'll update as soon as we have more information.
