Louisiana-Monroe football player Stacey Wilkins suspended until further notice

Louisiana-Monroe football player Stacey Wilkins suspended from team until further notice, ULM coach Terry Bowden said.

Wilkins was arrested and charged with domestic battery on Sunday morning, according to ULM police department.

"We immediately have suspended him from the football team in regard to practice, activities and games," Bowden said.

The police report stated that the women walked into the University of Louisiana-Monroe police Department told officers that she was “struck by the father of her child.” He was brought back to the satiation and confessed to hitting the woman while giving his statement to officers. Wilkins was then transported to Ouachita Correctional Center with bond set at $2,500.

“I tell my players you suffer the consequences of your actions no matter what they are," Bowden said.

Wilkins has spent the last two years with the Warhawks (1-2) after transferring from Oklahoma. He has started in all three games of the 2022 season. Despite his name appearing on the depth chart for the match up against Louisiana-Lafayette game on Saturday (7 p.m., ESPN+) at Malone Stadium, Wilkins will not participate.

Bowden said that the length of the offensive tackle's suspension is "until that is resolved."
