Louisiana Tech softball releases full 2023 schedule featuring Washington, LSU, Ole Miss

Louisiana Tech softball, the reigning Conference USA regular season champions, has released its full 2023 season schedule.

On top of the regular season title, the Lady Techsters finished 39-20 in coach Josh Taylor's first season in Ruston after eight seasons at Nevada. The Lady Techsters had three all-conference first-team selections last season along with three second-team selections, freshman of the year in Sierra Sacco and Taylor was named coach of the year.

Sacco etched her name in into Louisiana Tech record books last year. The outfielder took over the record for single season hits (83), is tied for second in single season runs (54), second in batting average (.441) and second in on base percentage (.535).

The season begins on Feb. 10 in a three-game slate against Southeast Missouri. LSU comes to Ruston on Feb. 21 and La Tech goes down to Baton Rouge on April 1. They begin conference play hosting North Texas in a three-game weekend series beginning Mar. 10. Louisiana Tech will host the 2023 Conference-USA tournament beginning on May 10.

"In Conference USA, each team needs to be strategic about how they schedule in regards to being more than a one bid league, which is what we are trying to do and in order to do that we have to play certain teams," Taylor said. "We are excited about the challenges in front of us the girls have been working hard this fall and we are looking forward to getting the season started in February."
