Louisiana Workforce Commission, Department of Public Safety to host Houma-Thibodaux job fairs

Employers and healthcare resources will be attending two job fairs this week and next in the Houma-Thibodaux area.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections are co-hosting the Bayou Region Career and Resource Fair at two locations the last two weeks of October.

The Houma fair is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret St. The Thibodaux one is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Warren J. Harrang Municipal Auditorium, 310 N. Canal Blvd.

More than 50 businesses will be in attendance, including job-seeking resources and healthcare services. Examples include Teche Action Clinic, Start Corp, Goodwill, Fletcher and offshore companies such as Sealevel.

“In working together to bring the Bayou Region Career and Resource Fairs to our communities, we provide the opportunity to create a holistic approach as a one stop shop for employment opportunities and needed resources together in one location," the organizations said in a news release.
