The nominations are in for Courier Journal Player of the Week. Tons of impactful performances took place during the past week of action. Here are the athletes who made this week's cut. Cast your vote on our poll below.\

Samari Taylor - Ballard basketball

Ballard's Samari Taylor had 26 points and 18 rebounds in a 72-66 loss to North Oldham on Friday.

Makya Grinter - Male basketball

Male senior guard Makya Grinter had 24 points and seven rebounds in a 74-64 victory at Mercy on Wednesday.

ZaKiyah Johnson - Sacred Heart basketball

Sacred Heart freshman ZaKiyah Johnson had 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists during the Valkyries' 74-43 win against Southwestern on Monday. Then she had 20 points, 11 rebs in a 66-45 win over Manual on Friday.

Dezdrick Lindsay - Male basketball

Male senior Dezdrick Lindsay had a career-high 28 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulldogs' 81-74 OT win over DeSales Monday.

Jack Sivori - St. Xavier football

St. Xavier senior quarterback went 22-36 for 306 yards and four total touchdowns during the Tigers 31-21 win over Male in Saturday's Class 6A State Championship.

Mekhi Smith - St. Xavier football

St. Xavier senior wide receiver Mekhi Smith hauled in 10 catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns — including the Tigers' game clinching score — during St. Xavier's 31-21 win over Male in Saturday's Class 6A State Championship.
