KEY ACTION: Approved 2023 financial items.
DISCUSSIONS: Appropriations for 2023 are set at $12,615,160 and include a 4.5% increase in water and sewer rates, and employee pay rates. Contracts with the firefighters' union call for pay increase of 8%, while police officers will receive a 4% increase, which amends their contract that called for a 2.75% increase. The firefighters' contract is for three years, while the police contract expires at the end of 2023. Non-union represented employees will receive an 8% pay increase, with the addition of dental and vision insurance. Employees will pay 13.5% of medical and prescription costs through payroll deduction.
OTHER ACTION:
Approved a $49,000 contract with Advances Rehabilitation Technology of Bryan, Ohio, for manhole spray lining.
Set public hearings for all seven ordinances dealing with the appropriations, contracts, pay rates, and fees for 7 p.m. Nov. 21.
Held discussions on a proposal for a single trash hauler contract. A request for bids will be prepared and advertised followed by requests for public input at meetings separate from council meetings.
