KEY ACTION: Approved an EMS billing contract.

DISCUSSION: All use of emergency medical services involving transporting of patients to medical facilities are billed through Ohio Billing at a cost to the city of $27 per bill, an increase of $2 from the previous contract.

The billing service will begin Jan.1, necessitating emergency approval of the enabling ordinance. In the event of non-payment of the bill, Ohio Billing will relay the account to the Ohio Attorney General for collection action.

OTHER ACTION:

  • Received checks totaling $2,500 from the Louisville Eagles for use by the Police and Fire departments of $1,000 each and $500 for the K9 unit.

  • Gave final approval to a zoning change on the property east of Broadway Avenue NE on Peach Street from B5 to R3 to permit development of housing units.

  • Learned that a $862,000 grant was approved by the Ohio Public Works Commission for the E. Main Nickleplate intersection improvement project. Construction will begin following approval of bids in July after the funding is received.

  • Adjourned to an executive session on personnel, real estate and litigation matters. No action followed.
