Louisville forecast: What's the weather for July 4?

While severe weather Sunday left more than 46,000 people without power in Kentucky, the Fourth of July and early week forecast in Louisville is mostly sunny.

Temperatures for July 4 will be in the upper 80s and low 90s, ushering in muggy conditions this week, the National Weather Service's Louisville office said.

Later in the week, the chance for severe weather may continue with storms likely Thursday.

What's in the forecast for Louisville this week?

Monday: Cloudy early with a high near 85. West winds 8 to 10 mph before calming in the evening. Low around 69.

Fourth of July (Tuesday): Mostly sunny with a high near 88. Calm winds becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon with a low around 70.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 30% with a low around 71.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then likely showers and a possible thunderstorm after 2 p.m. High near 86. Evening: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m. then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers after 2 a.m. Low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Friday: A chance of showers with thunderstorms possible after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Slight chance of evening showers and a low around 65.
