Louisville man charged with Plain Township arson

A 31-year-old Louisville man is accused of intentionally starting a fire at a Plain Township home.

He was charged Friday with aggravated arson, a felony. He is accused of starting the fire at 2:31 p.m. Friday at a home in the 2800 block of Fairmount Street SE, according to a press release from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Plain Township firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and there were no injuries, the release said. Deputies and Plain fire officials worked together to determine the fire was arson and to locate the suspect, who was arrested at his home.

He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a parole violation, the sheriff’s release said.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with additional information about the fire to contact the office at 330-430-3800.
