Louisville Public Works opens yard waste drop off sites Monday. Where you can drop off

Louisville Metro Public Works will open seven sites for residents to drop off yard waste Monday.

The sites will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and operate until Saturday for folks who have debris in their yards due to damage from a "potent" storm system that hit the region on Friday. Weekly yard waste collection will resume on Monday for those in the urban service district.

Where can I drop off my yard waste?

  • Shawnee Park: 4501 West Broadway

  • Public Works Yard: 10500 Lower River Road (enter from Bethany Lane)

  • Near Fairdale Elementary: 10618 W. Manslick Road

  • Fern Creek Park: 8703 Ferndale Road

  • Smith Creek Compost Facility: 13312 Aiken Road (tree debris only; bulky waste not accepted)

  • Public Works Yard: 595 N. Hubbards Lane

  • Waste Reduction Center: 636 Meriwether Ave.

Public Works asks residents to keep tree debris separate from bulky waste for "easy off-loading" and said it won't take mixed loads or household hazardous waste. It will also ask residents for their names and address when dropping off items.

Friday's storm killed at least five people, left hundreds of thousands without power and closed Jefferson and Bullitt County Public Schools on Friday and Monday. It also led to sweeping property damage across the city and at least two interstate closures Friday.
