After a record-setting performance against Duke, Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham was named ACC quarterback of the week.

The Alabama native threw for 303 yards, ran for 224 yards and had seven total touchdowns. He was the second person in FBS history to throw for more than 300 yards and run for 200 yards in the same game.

Cunningham has been the heart and soul of the Louisville offense this year. He's totaled 2,589 passing yards and 933 rushing yards. He has 18 passing touchdowns and 18 rushing touchdowns, and is just two touchdowns from being the eighth 20-20 player in FBS history.

"To me he's the best dual-threat player in the country," coach Scott Satterfield said.

He's led a Louisville offense that is ranked No. 17 in total offense with 459 yards of total offense. Louisville take its high-powered offense against rival Kentucky on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Battling the flu

The Louisville football has been dealing with the flu for about a week now.

The Cardinals (6-5, 4-4) had players sick during the 62-22 win over Duke, including Cunningham. Satterfield said after the game he had six players with the flu. It doesn't look like it's stopping anytime soon, either.

Satterfield said a few more players weren't feeling well on Sunday, but thinks they'll be back for practice on Monday.

"You kind of have your fingers crossed because you have this sickness and I don’t think it’s going away. It’s a matter of can we keep our guys healthy before we go out there and play on Saturday, so Sunday we were missing a few," Satterfield said. "I think we are on the back end of it, but we will know more by the end of the week. Kind of have our fingers crossed, wearing some masks around the building and washing our hands so hopefully we don’t spread it anymore."

Louisville was hit by the flu bug before its Kentucky game in 2019, as well, when it lost 45-13, Satterfield's first, and only game, against the Wildcats.
