Louisville football fans can look forward to an improved experience during the Cardinals’ home opener against Florida State on Friday night.

Cardinal Stadium has undergone several changes to enhance the fan experience after receiving feedback from ticketholders last year. From food to WiFi, here’s what fans can expect at home games this year:

Are tickets still available for U of L vs. Florida State?

Yes. Ticketmaster.com shows 300-level tickets starting at $30 still available and more throughout the stadium. The most expensive tickets available as of Tuesday are in Section 106, for $300 apiece.

What is the weather forecast for Friday's Louisville football vs. FSU game?

As of Tuesday evening, the AccuWeather forecast for Friday is highs in the mid to upper 80s, partly cloudy with little chance for rain. The low Friday night will be 65 degrees.

Where can I park at Cardinal Stadium? How much is parking?

Cash parking at Cardinal Stadium is pre-sold. No cash parking is available on game days. There are other cash parking lots around the stadium on Central Avenue, South 3rd Street, Oakdale Avenue and the Kentucky EXPO Center.

What time do gates open for Louisville vs. Florida State, and where do I enter?

The parking lots open five hours prior to kickoff and stadium gates open 1 ½ hours before. To make for easier and quicker entry process, new pedestal ticket scanners have been installed at Gates 2 and 4. Fans can also now keep their phones, keys and wallets in their pockets due to new stationary magnetic walk-thru scanners.

Can I print out my tickets for Louisville football vs. FSU?

Print-at-home paper tickets are no longer accepted to combat fraud and counterfeiting.

Instead, Cardinal Stadium accepts mobile tickets, which can be accessed on the CardsMobile app or on a mobile device web browser at gocards.com/account. Anyone wishing to download the app may do so at gocards.com/cardsmobile. Adding the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Pay is recommended for added convenience and expedience.

Can I tailgate at Cardinal Stadium?

Anyone wishing to tailgate can reserve a spot either for the full season or a single game through Norton Healthcare Card March Reserved Tailgating. Is there a Red Out for U of L vs. Florida State football?

Yes. Friday night's game will be a Red Out. It will also be Educator Appreciation Day that celebrates local educators.

Louisville will also honor running back Michael Bush as the 26th player in program history to be added to their honored jerseys.

What time is the CardMarch?

Louisville's CardMarch, which began in 2003, typically starts about two hours before kickoff when the team arrives at Cardinal Stadium. Go to Bronze Lots D and E to catch your first look at the Cardinals this season.

Is the clear bag policy still in effect?

The clear bag policy remains in place at Cardinal Stadium. It can be either a one-gallon clear Ziploc-style storage bag or a 12 x 6 x 12 inches clear tote bag. Diaper bags and medical items that can’t be transported in a clear bag are the only exceptions. Both are subject to a security inspection with medically necessary items and/or equipment being tagged by security at the entry gates following the inspection.

What changes have been made to Cardinal Stadium?

Last week, Louisville debuted the opening of the Angel’s Envy Bourbon Club on the west side of the stadium. The space, formerly known as the Brown & Williamson Club, is 18,000 square feet, was renovated with the help of a $4 million gift from Angel’s Envy.

What's new about Cardinal Stadium concessions?

To expedite the concessions process, Cardinals Stadium will have grab-and-go stations labeled “On the Fly” in key areas to reduce the wait time for more high-demand options. Other concessions include $4 beer in select spaces throughout the concourse and “Happy Hour and a Half,” where fans can get drinks for 50% off between the time the gates open and kickoff. All club spaces will also include a complimentary concession item during certain times of each game.

How good is Cardinal Stadium Wifi?

The in-stadium WiFi is expected to be better this year after the athletic program used a $5 million investment to improve the wireless internet. The “CardinalsWiFi” network is also aimed at allowing spectators to enjoy more digital engagement opportunities inside the stadium.
