Coverage from the game: Louisville's NCAA Tournament run ends in Elite 8 against Caitlin Clark and Iowa Hawkeyes

Louisville head coach Jeff Walz has familiarity with Iowa star Caitlin Clark. He coached the junior guard on the USA Basketball U-19 team in 2019. The Iowa native was called upon to make free throws near the end of the gold-medal game against Australia and made one in regulation before Team USA prevailed 74-70 in overtime.

On that team as well? Cardinals junior guard Hailey Van Lith.

Almost four years later, Walz and Van Lith have to face Clark, a Naismith Trophy finalist, and the Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight.

"Her court vision's outstanding. Her range is once she crosses half court," Walz said. "I think she's got a complete game and everybody knows it. If you undervalue her game, it's just because you don't like that for some reason."
