Louisville's February 2022 homicide victims: What we know about the 9 cases
Nine homicides were reported in February, marking the first time in two years Louisville experienced a single-digit homicide count.
Each reported homicide was a shooting, and in one case, Louisville Metro Police officials have indicated charges may not be filed against the person accused of pulling the trigger. Suspects have been arrested in three of the cases. No arrests have been made in the remaining cases.

What we know about February 2022's victims:
Timothy Frazer
Frazer, 40, was found dead Feb. 3 in the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue at about 3:30 p.m, according to LMPD. He died of a gunshot wound.
On Oct. 12, Hunter Thrasher was arrested and charged with murder, according to LMPD. His arrest citation stated Thrasher and Frazer knew each other after sharing a dormitory at Louisville Metro Corrections. Frazer had been reported missing on Jan. 6, according to Thrasher's arrest citation, and Thrasher was found in possession of Frazer's car on Feb. 2 by Middletown Police. Thrasher's DNA was found on items where Frazer's body was located, according to the citation, and the last communication on found on Frazer's phone had been with Thrasher.
Kyre Wright
Wright, 19, was shot to death inside a vehicle on Feb. 6, according to LMPD. A teenaged girl who was with him was nonfatally wounded.
Officers responded to the 5200 block of Kilmer Boulevard just before 6 p.m. and found Wright and and the girl, police said at the time. They were both taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. The girl's injuries were not believed to be life threatening, but Wright was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
No arrests have been made in his case.
Deshawn Seewright
Seewright, 26, was found shot to death in an alley Feb. 8, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a shooing the 1600 block of West Ormsby Avenue just before 8:30 p.m., LMPD said. Seewright, who had been shot multiple times, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made in his case.
Lorraine Anderson
Anderson, 43, was fatally shot Feb. 11.
Officers responded to the 4300 block of Sunset Avenue at about 12:30 a.m., police said at the time, where they found Anderson suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
She was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Anderson was the mother of two daughters, who "were her everything," her sister Nichelle Anderson told The Courier Journal. The shooting, she said, happened a few minutes away from where he sister lived and right after she'd texted one of her daughters that she was on her way home.
"She loved to dance even if she was the only person on the dance floor. ... She was very friendly and got along with people, so our family is still in disbelief that someone would murder her," Nichelle Anderson said of her sister.
No arrests have been made in her case.
"It makes grieving so much harder without answers," Nichelle Anderson said.
Warner Wesley Warfield III
Warfield, 42, was fatally shot Feb. 12.
Officers responded to an apartment in the 6800 block of West Pages Lane at 3:25 a.m., acccording to LMPD, where they found Warfield suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.
At the time, LMPD investigators said they believe all parties involved were accounted for. No charges have been filed since.
Diante Story
Story, 19, was shot to death inside his home Feb. 15.
Officers responded to the 6900 block of Brooklawn Drive at approximately 6 p.m., police said at the time. Story had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
LMPD arrested David Surface, 18, and charged him with murder in connection with the shooting, according to court records. Story was found in the kitchen of a home, with two men who were identified as Surface and Surface's father standing outside, an arrest citation said.
The father identified Surface as "the person that got into it with the victim," the citation said. Surface had texted his father earlier asking him to "come get him and to bring his AR," an officer wrote in the arrest citation.
Surface also texted, "should I just do it" and "He gon try kill me," with neighbors calling 911 to report shots fired a minute after Surface texted, "I just need to do it," the citation added.
The two had been friends for about two years and Surface had moved in with Story about three weeks prior to the shooting, Story's mom Rosalyn Story told The Courier Journal.
"His personality was extremely, extremely energetic – he was always just all over the place," she said of her son.
He enjoyed a variety of sports including basketball and skateboarding and loved to dance, she added.
Story was a graduate of Bluegrass Challenge Academy. He was his mother's only child.
"This whole thing has been the worst pain that I’ve eve had to experience in my entire life," she said.
Isaiah Elder
Elder, 19, was shot to death at an apartment Feb. 17.
Officers responded to the 11000 block of Maple Brook Drive just before 6 p.m., according to LMPD, where they found Elder. He had been shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
Two months later, on April 19, 20-year-old David Adams was booked into Metro Connections, accused of being complicit in the murder of Elder.
According to an arrest report, Adams and another unnamed suspect shot Elder multiple times at the Maple Brook Apartments. Investigators determined Adams was meeting with Elder and was there when he was shot and killed, then fled the scene, the citation said.
Anthony Montez Knott
Knott, 33, was shot to death Feb 20.
Officers responded to the 3300 block of Camp Ground Road just before midnight, according to LMPD, where they found Knott, who had been shot and killed.
Another man who was shot was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital by a private vehicle - his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said at the time.
The location of Knott's death, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, was Long Shots Sports Cafe & Bar.
On Oct. 13, LMPD announced 25-year-old Anthony Taylor Jr. had been arrested and charged with complicity first-degree assault and complicity murder. He was arrested without incident in the 5000 block of Stephan Drive.
Angelica James
James, 38, was shot to death inside a vehicle Feb. 27.
Officers responded to the 4100 block of Quiet Way around 4 p.m. where they found James, who had been shot multiple times. Her 10-year-old was wounded in his hand and hip and her other son, who was 2, was missing and an Amber Alert was issued for him.
Just after 10 p.m., police announced the boy had been safely located. Police immediately identified Christopher Lee Gordon, 32, as the suspect in the shooting. He is the father of the two-year-old.
He was arrested nearly a week later on March 3 and charged with domestic violence murder, first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
James was the mother of four boys, who she loved to brag about and dote on, her friend Jennifer Watson said.
Watson, who worked with James for about a year, said she was a dedicated worker with a creative side that helped her run her own side business making custom-designed gifts. She named it Caesen's Creations, after her youngest son.
"She was a really positive person," Watson said. "She was very gentle and quiet, but bright and bubbly."

More than anything, though, James' identity was centered around her boys. Her oldest is 21 and a fourth son is in high school, Watson said.
"She loved her kids so much," Watson said. "She bragged about them. ... That was all they had."
In November 2020, Gordon was arrested after he was accused of striking James and throwing her to the ground. He was sentenced to two years of supervised probation in that case. He had prior domestic violence convictions related to another woman and a reckless homicide conviction from 2009.
