Love Island couple Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling are teaming up for a BBC true crime podcast.

The pair will be presenting weekly BBC Sounds podcast series Murder They Wrote, a takeoff on the classic detective show Murder She Wrote, where they investigate some of the worst criminals in history.

Each episode will see one presenting a disturbing real-life story to the other, ranging from a 24-hour marriage with a deadly ending to the tale of a dentist-turned-hitman to a kidnapper with a strange hiding place for his victims.

"I’m so excited to bring our true crime obsession to BBC Sounds," Laura said. "I love the psychology of it all, getting into people’s mindsets and finding out what makes them tick. In our new podcast on BBC Sounds, Iain and I will take it in turns to surprise each other with tales of historical true crime cases that are sure to make the hairs on the back on your neck stand on end."

Iain added: "If, like us, you’re curious about how a honeymoon turned into a horror story, or the curious case of the hitman dentist, then this is the podcast for you. Join us as we dive right into the past and encounter some of the darkest criminals in history.”

The Murder They Wrote podcast is set to premiere on Monday (November 6) on BBC Sounds for weekly episode releases.

Since leaving Love Island in 2022, Laura has pivoted towards true crime with her series Laura Whitmore Investigates and hosted a previous podcast called Partners in Crime with Sterling.
