'Love Island' viewer tries to petition the government to let single person win the show
The government has rejected a petition set up by a Love Island fan to allow Ovie Soko to be the sole winner of the show.
Any member of the public can file an online petition to the UK Goverment and Paliament and if any petition gets over 10,000 signatures the government has to respond.
A petition was filed a week ago titled “Allow Ovie be the first single on love island to win the 50k [sic]”

It has been rejected on the grounds that “It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.”
Professional basketball player Ovie, 28, was one of 12 new contestants to join Love Island mid way into the current series and is not currently part of a couple.
The rules of the ITV2 reality show state the public can only vote for a couple to win the series and the £50,000 prize money.
Tonight’s episode will see Ovie kiss new girl India Reynolds after stealing her away from love rival Chris Taylor.

Since June this year the government has also rejected four petitions to ban Love Island on the ground that Ofcom is responsible for regulation television.
A petition was also set up to have Danny and Arabella removed from Love Island, and another to bring back contestant Sherif Lanre - who agreed to leave the show for breaking the rules after using offensive language.
